SASCO mourns the passing away of cde Lincoln Morgan

27 October 2013

The South African Students Congress (SASCO) is shocked and deeply saddened by the passing away of a former SASCOleader, cde Lincoln Morgan. Cde Lincoln died in a tragic car accident in the early hours of this morning (27 October) in Rustenburg. SASCO conveys its sincerest condolences to the family, comrades and friends of cde Lincoln Morgan. Cde Lincoln was an ardent student activist who understood our struggle for transformation of higher education and further training.

Cde Lincoln served as the SASCO branch chairperson and local SRC treasurer at TUT Garankuwa campus. He was later deployed as the President for the TUT Central SRC. Cde Lincoln also served as the SASCO Gauteng provincial secretary and SASCO NEC member for two years (2010-2011). He also served as the Treasurer General of the South African Union of Students (SAUS). At the time of his untimely death, cde Lincoln was ANC YL Regional Task Team (RTT) coordinator in Bojanala region, North West. He was a true embodiment of revolutionary youth activism.

We dip our revolutionary banners in honour of the now departed revolutionary and giant, whose life was dedicated tobuilding a truly non-racial, non-sexist, democratic and prosperous South Africa. Death has robbed us of a fervent activist and revolutionary!

Robala ka kgotso!
